CGI::Prototype is a new module by Randal Schwartz. It provides a
framework for building web applications. It's not a drop-in replacement
for Maypole, and it may be difficult at first to grasp how it works. But
it is small and rather elegant, and may be suitable in some cases where
Maypole is not.
CGI::Prototype doesn't ship with any model classes, but I don't expect
it'll be long before someone releases a CGI::Prototype::ClassDBI or even
a CGI::Prototype::Maypole*. If anyone here gives CGI::Prototype a go,
I'd be interested to hear about their experiences.

* In fact, a future version of Maypole could use CGI::Prototype.
