So, it seems to me like we need a maintainer, since people were not
happy with SRI working with Catalyst and maintaining Maypole at the
same time. Simon Flack has been set up as a suggestion, but I haven't
been able to contact him while the list were down. Are there other
candidates? Seems to me we need someone who's able to upload to CPAN
and make decisions about incoming patches in a timely manner. Having
some ideas about the future direction of Maypole probably wouldn't hurt
either. Simon seems to be a good candidate for this.
The general feeling seems to be that after 2.0 the maypole API needs
time to stabilize, so backwards compability is a priority, but there
are still plenty of improvements to be made, specially on the
documentation and sane error reporting (internally to Maypole). So,
who's up for the challenge? Whoever it is, I'm willing to keep
maintaining the subversion tree and the website, and I still wish to
continue development of Maypole, so whoever you are, you would not be
alone.
