Might be worth suggesting on the Mason list.

You don't have to run it in stand-alone mode, so it's easier to
integrate into existing Mason sites. Plus it uses Mason comp roots
rather than Maypole's method for locating factory, site, and custom
templates. I think Mason doesn't compile object files if it's used in
stand-alone mode, might be wrong about that.
