I did have a few broken dependencies. I installed from CPAN. I ended up
forcing a few of them. I don't remember which they were. it probably
took about 5 iterations of:

perl -MCPAN -e 'install CGI::Maypole'

interspersed with forced package installations. Doing it this way lets
you know which packages didn't install right. After that it worked fine
(aside from the fact that it took hours to figure out that I had to have
a trailing backslash on my URLs).

I've come to expect this sort of thing and am used to forcing things to
install.

I'm using Mandrake 10.
